Unknown Speaker 0:00 interact with people from outside of the city, their reactions to Scarborough or Malvern or, you know, Jane and Finch certain communities in the city and make it absolutely clear the opinions that they have that they hold a negative opinion or low opinion. And then unfortunately extend those opinions, the people from those areas and not just those areas. Nothing is a normal part of the city but just kind of like kind of an anomaly a part of the city where where strange things happen. It's all either get really shocking, patronized and responses that, you know, sort of, you're a good one can believe that someone like he lives in Malvern met people who made fun of me when I thought, you know, when I first decided I wanted to go to law school, I thought it was a soul out of this world that was doing something crazy. So news media, I think it's very, it's an integral part of continuing the stereotypes. There's a focus on crime for one. Also, there's a lack of representation of views from these neighborhoods. You know, a community like Malvern doesn't really have the infrastructure to support a sufficiently diverse array of lifestyles, then people who have an opportunity to leave from that deprivation can do make that choice and I think it's unfortunate. communities could benefit a lot from these people stay in there and building them. But I guess when these places are continuously portrayed as being hopeless, it's really not reasonable to expect someone with the choice and the means to go somewhere else to decide to make their life there.
